new Arapiles guide has been a long time in the making (7 Years or
thereabouts) but was well worth the wait. The old guide was easy to
use and contained enough climbs to last several lifetimes. The new
guide takes it, and all guide books to follow, to a new level.
Colour photos and topos abound throughout with an easy to use and
well thought out layout that tells you when the sun will be on the
cliff, grade ranges, how to get there and stories of the climbs
(some decidedly shady). And for the pebble pinchers, there is an
extensive bouldering guide at the back with v-grades covering all
the bouldering at the Mount you could want. There is other useful
information about camping at the cliff and different types of
accommodation around the local area as well as things to do on your
rest days plus the long and sometimes sordid history of the cliff
and its developers. All up one of the best guide books made to date
about one of the worlds best climbing areas. Highly Recommended.
